The following are some comments from people who give their time and effort to the well-being and success of this service. We are extremely grateful for their care and commitment.
- "...I feel that those of us who are fortunate enough to have (if even only very occasionally!) spare time should use it constructively to help others less fortunate."
- "Until I had cataract surgery and lens implants a few years ago, I was extremely nearsighted, so I have some appreciation for what persons with more severe vision impairment must be experiencing. With this background, VRRS seemed like a natural place to volunteer, and I'm glad I joined the team."
- "It's my way of giving back to the community and to help others. The experience has been and continues to be wonderful."
- "Personally, I enjoy being able to spend some of my time giving back to my community and helping those less fortunate than I. I feel that any endeavor in which I can make use of my talents for the betterment of those around me is worthwhile and important."
- There are three reasons that I have chosen to volunteer time to the organization. First, I became interested in the organization while doing my MBA. I had an opportunity to see how the organization ran and saw the importance of attracting and retaining volunteers. Second, my mother had macular degeneration and would have benefited greatly from this organization's services. Finally, my company supports working and volunteering in the community to help where one can. Overall, helping other people is extremely satisfying."
